Thank you to all the parents who joined us for the Annual General Meeting and Parent Guild Meeting on Wednesday evening. We sincerely appreciate you taking the time to attend, engage in the discussion, and support our school community.
A special thank you as well to everyone who volunteered on Thursday evening. Whether you hosted with warm hospitality, helped with the Nearly New Sale, or volunteered in the Cru Shoppe, your generosity of time and effort contributed greatly to the success of these events.
Your involvement, ideas, and commitment help strengthen the Guild's efforts and foster a welcoming and enriching experience for all our students and families. We are grateful for your support and look forward to another wonderful year of working together.

CRU Shoppe Volunteering: Homecoming – Saturday September 26, 2026
We are needing volunteers to assist with merchandise sales during the Homecoming Football Game.
Set up and run Homecoming Game
Please come and help set up the Cru Shoppe for homecoming. We will have a booth outside and there will be time to enjoy the game and festivities as well. Game starts at 1:00, so set up for 1 hr and then we will run the store outside.

Please come and help run the Cru Shoppe outdoors for the Homecoming game. The game starts at 1:00 pm. This shift is to help from 3:00 till close, and then to help with tear down of the Shoppe.

Career Day

We are looking for two volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up of the Career Day hospitality tables. These are great shifts to help at if you are at the school for drop off or pick up and have a bit of extra time to help.
Set-up Shift: One volunteer needed – 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Clean Up Shift: One volunteer needed – 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

CRU Shoppe Volunteering
Interested in volunteering in the CRU Shoppe? Erin Bodnarchuk is the CRU Shoppe manager and is keen on meeting new volunteers and connecting with our seasoned CRU Shoppe volunteers. CRU Shoppe volunteers work in the CRU Shoppe over the lunch hour. Your job includes selling merchandise, candy and of course, (and the best part) interacting with the young men in the school! The Loran Award is valued at more than $100,000 over four years of university undergraduate studies, including an annual stipend, matching tuition waivers, mentorship, funding for summer work experiences, and participation in an extensive network of past and present Loran Scholars. Selected on the basis of strength of character, commitment to service, and the potential for leadership, Loran Scholars are young people who are humble, inquisitive, and thoughtful; who shun the status quo and pursue unique paths; who collaborate and bring others along; and who will act in the face of injustices to build a better future for all.

The AES Engineers Essay Scholarship is open to all students going into any faculty. Students must submit an essay of between 500 and 1000 words in answer to the following question:
When you look back on your life in 30 years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What relationships or accomplishments will be important on this journey?
Amount of award: $500.00
Deadline for entry: October 8, 2026
Another scholarship promoted to students this week is the University of Toronto Book Award. Students interested in school nomination must submit an application to Ms Kolton before Sept 25th at 9 a.m. Our one nominee is then eligible to apply for the U of T National Scholarship Program.
A second school nominated scholarship advertised to students this week, also at U of T, is the Wolf Scholars Program. Students must indicate interest for school nomination to Ms Kolton in writing before 9 a.m on Oct. 26th to be considered.

Math Help
Free Math help is available for any student, in any grade. It is offered in Room 104 at lunch every Tuesday and Thursday all year. There will be a math teacher and student tutors available. You do not need an appointment.
At St. Paul's High School, every student is assigned to a counsellor. If you want to find out the name of your son's counsellor, watch the video on the right showing you how to access this information through the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

Greetings Parents and Guardians,
This year’s Student Council is pleased to announce the 48th Walk will be held on Thursday, September 24th at St. Paul’s High School. This is an annual fundraiser that brings together students from St. Paul’s High School, St. Mary’s Academy and Balmoral Hall. The Walk is an all-day event (9:00 am - 2:15 pm) that begins with attendance at St. Paul’s and includes a ~7.5 km loop around Assiniboine Park. Upon returning, students can purchase food from the St. Paul’s cafeteria or attending food trucks, watch entertainment in Murray Hall, participate in a variety of outdoor games, compete on inflatables, and more!
This event is for Grades 9-12 students from St. Paul’s, St. Mary’s Academy and Balmoral Hall School. To help make this event possible, a $13 fee will be required from all St. Paul’s students. A Permission Click link at the end of this letter will allow parents/guardians to grant permission for their son(s) to participate in The Walk, sign a waiver/acknowledgement of risk form on their behalf, place an optional order for a 2026 Walk sweater ($40 and dress code eligible), and pay the $13 Walk participation fee. Registration and payment was due on Thursday, September 17th, 2026. If it has not been completed, please do so ASAP. If registration is still missing by Monday, September 21st students are at risk of receiving disciplinary action for ‘missed deadline’ or ‘missed appointment’. Students not registered will be unable to attend the day’s events and any absences must be reported prior to the registration deadline. Please contact Keana Rellinger (krellinger@stpauls.mb.ca) to assist with any registration and/or payment issues.
Student Council has chosen the Terry Fox Foundation as this year’s recipient of The Walk donations and we hope to surpass last year’s total of $8,385! The Walk is registered as a Terry Fox Foundation event and attached to this letter is a printable pledge form and a link to the St. Paul’s Terry Fox event page for students to fundraise from their networks. For fundraising online, students can share the SPHS page or create a personal page attached to the event if they have an individual fundraising goal. 100% of the funds collected are given directly to the Terry Fox Foundation and fundraising can be completed via in-person pledge forms or online. If collecting in person, please make all cheques payable to “The Terry Fox Foundation” and completed pledge forms can be brought to Ms. Rellinger in Room 127 no later than Wednesday, September 23rd, 2026.
Although fundraising is optional, Student Council would like to encourage students to seek the magis; strive to give more love, do better work, and serve others more fully. New this year is a tiered ticket system designed by Student Council! For every dollar raised, a ticket is earned and as the total fundraised grows students unlock higher prize tiers. But don’t worry, entering a higher tier doesn’t knock them out of the lower ones, students stay entered in every tier unlocked! Prizes will be unveiled to students on the Student Life Instagram and at school. Prizes include Walk sweaters, tech goodies, gift cards, and more!

Countdown to Homecoming: One Week to Go!
The Varsity Crusaders are gearing for an exciting game against the Vincent Massey (Brandon) Vikings on Connolly Field!
Bring family and friends for an afternoon packed with football action, food trucks, face painting, music, and the alumni beer gardens (18+), and a special Homecoming social after the game in Murray Hall featuring live music, beginning at 8:00 PM.
The Cru Shoppe will also be open!

Centennial Homecoming Social
Remember the old high school dances? For Centennial, we’re doing it again.
Join us on Saturday, September 26 at 8:00 p.m. in Murray Hall for the Centennial Homecoming Social featuring a DJ, dancing and surprise musical guests.
Tickets are $20 and space is limited, so we encourage you to purchase early.

Before the social, make a day of Centennial Homecoming. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. with Varsity Crusader football vs. Brandon Vincent Massey kicking off at 1:00 p.m.
The afternoon will also include an alumni beer garden, family zone with bouncers, face painting and kids’ activities, food trucks and vendors, plus a Centennial Archive Walk with stations and displays throughout the school.
Come for Homecoming. Stay for the party.

Please be reminded to use caution in the drop-off and pick-up areas near the Multiplex and main student parking lots. Some concern has been raised about drivers rushing through these areas before and after school. Thank you for slowing down and staying mindful of pedestrians and other vehicles.
