St. Paul's High School held our annual Open House/Information Evening on Thursday, 9 January. We would like to thank Mrs. Julie Paterson, Admissions Coordinator, for orchestrating a successful event. In addition, we would like to thank all of the speakers that contributed to the quality of the program. In particular, we thank Levi Grant '28 and Isaac Lavitt '25 for delivering outstanding speeches.
Many thanks to all of our students and staff who were excellent ambassadors for St. Paul's serving as greeters, musical performers, tour guides, speakers, and as helpers at several activities offered throughout the evening. Thank-you also to the many wonderful parents who helped serve during our mixer, and who shared their experiences of what it means to be a St. Paul's parent.
Our admission process continues into February and word of mouth is by far the best marketing tool we have for promoting St. Paul's High School.
Please encourage family and friends to consider St. Paul's by sharing the link to the admissions section of the school website or inviting them to contact Julie Paterson.
Schedule IV is in effect.
Please join us for a very special and memorable event on Wednesday January 15th, 2025 for the Class of 2025 Grad Ring Blessing Ceremony to be held in the Multiplex starting at 8:30 am.
The doors to the Multiplex and Student Link entrances will be open at 8:00 am.
This ceremony starts with a mass, then the blessing of the rings and then the distribution of the rings to the graduands. This ceremony usually concludes by 9:30 am. The graduands return to classes at the end of this ceremony. No registration is necessary.
We will have a professional photographer on site capturing the ceremony and the blessing of the rings.
For the ceremony to run smoothly, we would ask that all Grade 12s be in the cafeteria by 8:15am. We will be lining students up alphabetically, so we need all students there to ensure they are in the right spot before entering the Multiplex.
A Message from Redd Line Jewelry:
Upon receiving your Grad Ring, it is important to note that if your son requires the ring to be resized at all, you have until June 30th, 2025, to visit Redd Line Jewelry by appointment only, for a one time complimentary resizing at no additional cost. After that date there will be a charge.
If your son’s ring has not been engraved and would like to do so, the same deadline applies of June 30th, 2025, at the cost of $20.00 taxes included.
After that, the cost for engraving may be more. So, please ensure your son is comfortable with how it fits.
Thank you and we are looking forward to this very special event celebrating members of the Class of 2025!

Students may come to school to review their final exams and speak with their teachers and counsellors. While attendance is not required, students are encouraged to come to school to look over their exam results. Teacher locations will be posted in the school.
The deadline for submitting work to teachers to clear incompletes (INC) is noon on Tuesday, 4 February. Students will be informed of incomplete coursework or outstanding hours to fulfill Ignatian Service hour requirements prior to exams. In addition, parents of students with incomplete coursework.
Study schedules were distributed to grade nine students and posted on Teams for grade ten students earlier this week. These schedules are intended to help students organize their time before their upcoming exams.
As exams approach, it’s important to remember that they’re just one part of your son’s learning journey. Encourage him to focus on what he’s gaining through the process rather than the end result. Staying calm and reassuring him that these tests are not the 'be-all and end-all' can ease pressure and help him stay motivated. Let’s celebrate effort and growth, not the grades—it’s the learning that matters most.
A reminder that Schulich scholarship applications are due to Ms Kolton by Jan.15th at noon to be considered for school sponsorship. This is a $120,000 award in science, technology, engineering, and math.
The Hellmuth Scholarship (Western) is due January 15th, and the Western National Scholarship Program is due to Ms Kolton by noon on February 3rd to be considered for school sponsorship.
Students in any grade interested in taking online classes in semester two should register now as classes are 86% full. Courses are offered by the provincial government through InformNet. Students taking online courses are still required to take a full course load at St. Paul's and students are cautioned that the courses will not cover the topics with the same academic rigor as St. Paul's, so a student may find it difficult to proceed in that subject at St. Paul's the following year. For example, grade 11 online PreCal does not guarantee that a student is prepared to take gr. 12 PreCal at St. Paul's.
Some university programs will not accept courses for admission if they are not completed at the student’s highschool so students are encouraged to check eligibility carefully if they are hoping to use grade 12 InformNet courses for university admission.
Online courses are also available through InformNet in the summer.
A reminder that the application due date for the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg is March 1st.
