The St. Paul’s High School Class of 2025 is proud to present Shamrocks & Shenanigans, the 38thAnnual Fashion Show on Monday, March 17, 2025 at the Victoria Inn & Conference Centre. This event promotes the latest fashions from local retailers in coordination with Swish Modelling Agency and includes auctions and raffles with prizes from local businesses. Student volunteers create a lively and entertaining show in support of the Magis Fund, a fund that provides financial assistance to students who require assistance to ensure they can be full participants in school life.

The Fashion Show Committee is currently soliciting prize donations for Live, Silent or Rainbow Auctions. For your donation, you/your business will receive recognition on signage at the event, and have your brand in front of parents, alumni, and local business owners.

The Class of 2025 is asked to sign up for the many volunteer opportunities available, including modeling, participating in the show opener and show closer, photoshoot modeling, wine serving, raffle ticket selling and other tasks. Student Volunteers from the Class of 2025 can sign up until December 18th by clicking the button below.

Students and staff are encouraged to participate in a casual day in support of the school's Christmas Hamper Program. Please have your son bring $2 to participate on this day.
All grade nine students will attend the Freshman Retreat which begins on the evening of Thursday, 12 December. Students should leave school at the end of the school day on Thursday as retreat preparations will take place at that time. Students are expected to be at the school to participate in retreat activities during the following times. Please pick up and drop off students at the Multiplex.
There are NO CLASSES scheduled on Friday, 13 December due to the retreat. Instead, we are following a special retreat schedule which involves the entire grade 9 class, along with grade 10 & 11 grounds crew members, and grade 12 leaders.
Grade 9 parents have been sent separate email communications with further details about the retreat. Questions about the retreat should be addressed to the retreat director, Jason Hurton.
Each year, the Maroon & White Society organizes the St. Paul’s Blood Donation Initiative. Students who are eligible to donate (at least 17 years of age) are encouraged to become regular blood donors. Information on blood donation & eligibility can be found at www.blood.ca.
The M&W have organized a group donation event for St. Paul’s students on December 16th (3:30pm). When possible, transportation is arranged with the support of the Canadian Blood Services shuttle program so that students are transported from St. Paul’s to make their donation and returned to the school afterwards (approximately 5-5:30pm).
Any interested students are asked to contact Isaac Lavitt (M&W Blood Donation Chair) on Microsoft Teams by December 10th to register, confirm details and pick up a permission slip.

A project-based artificial intelligence program is being offered this summer through Inspirit AI, an AI education program developed and taught by Stanford and MIT graduates. The program will run for 10 sessions of 3 hours each in summer 2025 at Balmoral Hall School. Feel free to peruse the program brochure for more information. Classes are open to students in all grades. Please note: This course does not count as a Manitoba high school credit towards graduation requirements.
Applications are now open for the Horatio Alger Scholarship. $25,000 scholarships are awarded to full-time students in Grade 11 with financial need (family income under $65,000) who have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity, a commitment to pursue a post-secondary education, a desire to contribute to society, and a good academic record.
Schulich Scholarships are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Half are valued at $120,000 for engineering scholarships and half are valued at $100,000 for science and math scholarships. St. Paul's can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship. Applications are due to Ms Kolton January 15, 2025 to be considered for school nomination. Check the eligibility criteria carefully.
There are many scholarships available at University of Western Ontario that students have been made aware of. Scholarship information can be found at: Scholarships at Western: Students may also be interested in the Hellmuth Scholarship at Huron which is on the Western campus.
University of North Dakota recruitment will be at St. Paul’s on Dec. 10th at lunchtime. They will be set up in the hallway across from the library to speak with interested students in all grades.

At the end of the year, Gillian Hauser will step down as the current Volunteer Officer. The role is crucial, as our parent volunteers are required at events throughout the year. We hope to fill the role in the new year so that the individual can shadow Gillian and learn about the software program.
