Dear Parents,
The Parent Guild is an essential part of our school’s success. Parents are an invaluable resource that helps at events and activities throughout the year. As our boys learn and grow at St. Pauls and learn what it is to be a “Man for Others,” as parents we are role models as we continue to build community and help create a positive school environment.
We would really like you to consider volunteering at one of the many opportunities, like the upcoming band concert next week Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in the CRU shoppe or one of the many other upcoming opportunities. We hope to see you and that you will join us at the next Parent’s Guild Meeting on February 5, 2025.
We understand and appreciate everyone is busy, but we need your time and talents to help support our community, so I hope you will consider our request.
We look forward to seeing many of you at the next meeting and if you have any questions, please feel free to email me, parentguild@stpauls.mb.ca
Best,
St. Paul’s Parent Guild
We need baking for hospitality and volunteers to serve and clean up. Please consider the below requests.
Baking Needed
Please bring baked goods to be served to families and guests who attend the Band Concert. When dropping off your son on the morning of November 26, please bring baked goods to the front office, and Ms. Brito will receive the donated items.
Volunteers Needed
Volunteers assist with plating the baked goods, making coffee, tea, and juice, and cleaning up. Please click HERE to sign up to volunteer at the events listed or any of the upcoming events for the year!
Volunteer Officer
At the end of the year, Gillian Hauser will be stepping down as the current Volunteer Officer. The role is crucial, as our parent volunteers are required at events throughout the year. We are hopeful to fill the role in the new year so that the individual can shadow Gillian and learn the software program.
If you have any questions regarding the role, please email, parentguild@stpauls.mb.ca
The school is closed for a Staff PD Day.
Come out and celebrate Advent and prepare for Christmas! Our annual Advent Concert takes place on Tuesday, 26 November at 7 pm in the Albrechtsen MultiPlex. This is a wonderful evening filled with musical and vocal performances by our Concert Bands, Junior and Senior Jazz Bands, and Choir. All are welcome to attend.
We are excited to announce that on Wednesday, 27 November, our students will attend a special assembly featuring Dr. Jerome Cranston.
Dr. Cranston, a former Principal of St. Paul's High School (1999–2003), is now the Vice-Provost, Students and Learning at the University of Saskatchewan. With a rich academic background—including a Ph.D. from the University of Manitoba and degrees from the University of Alberta and the University of Lethbridge—he is a respected scholar and educator.
His work focuses on addressing racial inequality and promoting social justice. Dr. Cranston has been involved in supporting displaced Syrians in Lebanon, aiding Bhutanese refugees in Nepal, and collaborating with Indigenous communities in Canada. His dedication to equity and anti-racism has earned him recognition from esteemed organizations like the American Educational Research Association.
During the assembly, Dr. Cranston will share insights on creating more equitable and inclusive communities. We believe his message will inspire our students to think critically about social issues and empower them to contribute positively to society.
We also invite you to join Dr. Cranston that evening at 7:00 PM in Alumni & Friends Hall for an informative parent session. This event will provide an opportunity to hear more about his work and its relevance to our school community. Details and a registration link for the evening session are included below in the next news item.
We hope you will take part in this special event and join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Cranston.

The Counselling Department is looking for more student tutors to support those in need of academic assistance at St. Paul's. Becoming a tutor has many benefits; in particular, it allows students to give back to the school community. Other benefits include building a resume and flexible hours.
Peer tutoring can be used for volunteer hours OR can be part-time work ($15/hour).
The greatest demand is for gr. 12 tutors to work with younger students in Math, Science, and English. Interested students with marks above 85% should contact Ms McGill or Mr Daman.
