Lest We Forget
Our school's annual Remembrance Day Service will occur on Friday, 8 November at 8:40 am. Students should report to their core group locations at 8:25 am and wait to be called to the MultiPlex. Schedule V and Dress Code V are both in effect. As a reminder, Dress Code V is Regular Dress Code with the additional requirement of a standard necktie or bowtie.
Importance of Remembrance
While November is recognized as a time of Remembrance for many across Canada, Remembrance is a year-long commitment. There are many opportunities available to anyone wishing to show their appreciation for those who served. Most importantly, we should all take a moment now and then to reflect on the freedoms and peace in our lives, to remember the men and women who served and sacrificed for all we have today, and to pray for peace and eternal rest for all who lost their lives protecting the freedoms of Canadians. Lest We Forget.
Prayer Requests
The Church has dedicated November as a time of prayer for the deceased. If you have any deceased friends or family members you would like to be remembered in prayer at the weekday liturgies at the school, feel free to send an email to Fr. Con Mulvihill, St. Paul's High School Chaplain, at cmulvihill@stpauls.mb.ca
The names of senders and of the deceased will be confidential.
Every grade twelve student at the school has now had a scheduled one-to-one visit with his counsellor. We are moving on to meeting all of our grade nine clients. In the coming weeks all grade nines will have a scheduled one-to-one visit. The focus of individual meetings in grade 9 is to get to know our new clients. We will check on mental health, discuss academic concerns, and assess how each student is faring socially in his new environment. We will review what services the counselling department can provide and answer any questions your son may have.
As always, if your son would like to schedule his own appointment, he can drop by in person or send a message on Teams. Parents can also reach out to counsellors by phone or email if they feel their son would benefit from an earlier appointment.
Next week we will have two universities visiting St. Paul’s to talk to interested students.
Both presentations will be in the Aulneau Room. All students are welcome.
