The 2024 Crusader Cash Raffle

Thank you for supporting the 2024 Crusader Cash Raffle! By now, your household has received an email from Rafflebox, our online raffle platform, containing a custom link to buy tickets to support your son’s Crusader Raffle. Students are asked to sell a minimum of $200 of tickets. Tickets are on sale until midnight on November 19, 2024. The Crusader Raffle is our annual student fundraiser in support of School Programs and Grad Fund.

Congratulations to this week’s prize winner – Kristian Kucel in Grade 10. You’ve won two tickets to the Jets game on December 10th.

We have many seller incentives for students! Each week students can win prizes including gift cards to the Cru Shoppe, special dress code incentives and surprise draws when they have reached their quota of $200 in ticket sales. The top 3 sellers will also win a gift card to a retailer of their choice:

  • 1st – $300
  • 2nd – $200
  • 3rd – $100

Class of 2025: Grad Ring Sizing

On Monday, 21 October and Tuesday, 22 October, Redd Line Jewelry will be at the school to size Grade 12s for their grad rings. They will be set up in the cafeteria from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on both days. Please ensure your son attends one of these to days to be sized for his St. Paul's grad ring.

Wednesday, 23 October: Late Start for Students

Schedule IV is in effect.

School Photo Retakes

Photo retakes will take place on Wednesday, 23 October 23.

Students who missed the original date in September will automatically be expected to have their photo taken.  

Students who want retakes must complete the attached permission form and return it to Mr. Sterner in his office, or to his mail slot at the front desk.

Students having their photos taken are expected to be in Full Dress Code on that day.

Photos will be held in Murray Hall. Once the photo stations are set up, students may use their spares or the morning’s late start session to get their photo taken. Otherwise, they can wait to be called to Murray Hall if those options do not work.

Regular School Day: Friday, 25 October

Please be reminded that Friday, 25 October, will be a regular school day (Day A) for all students. The previously scheduled Professional Development Day has been postponed to allow for strategic planning later in the school year. The new date for the PD Day will be announced as soon as it is confirmed.

Parent Guild 

Bake Sale

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Bake Sale on October 15th. All the proceeds from Tuesday’s sales will be directed to the Christmas Hamper Fund.

The next bake sale will take place on November 19 and will be for those students in Grade 11. However, if families wish to donate, baked goods are much appreciated!

Items are sold at .50 Cents each or three for $1.00 with some of the larger items at $1.00 each.

Again, a huge hug to thanks to all those families who supported with baking and donations and for your son’s purchases and look forward to your support at the next one!

Nearly New Pop-Up Sale - Donation Requests

FALL CLEANING? Let us help you! We are looking for donations of gently used uniform pieces that your child has outgrown; St. Paul’s uniform polo shirts, dress pants, blazers, dress shirts, gym clothing, sweatshirts etc…

Please drop off your items at the front office anytime in October.      

Donated items at the new pop-up shop in November during parent-teacher conferences. All monies generated from the sale go towards the Christmas hamper fund. If you have any questions about the Nearly New pop-up, please contact volunteer Tess Bernacki at 204-930-7170.

Coordinator Needed:

  • Discover Day: October 25 & November 22, 8:45 am—3:00 pm or 1:00—3:00 pm. Campus tours, class visits, information booths, and free gelato. Application fee waivers are available to any student who attends a Discover Day or Weekend event. 

The University of Alberta is hosting an Information Night in Winnipeg for any interested students on Wednesday, 13 November, 7:00-8:00 pm at Balmoral Hall. Registration required.

Chick-fil-A Community Scholarship:  $25,000 scholarship for community involvement and extra-curriculars. Due: Oct. 30th

Maryknoll Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship for winning short essay on the topic of hope.  Restricted to Catholic school students. Due: Nov. 18th

Odenza Group Marketing Scholarship: $500 scholarship for winning essays on why living in a particular city would make you more marketable to an employer and why you should be granted the award. Due: Nov. 15th

Engineering Outreach Day for Grade 11 and 12s

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Manitoba will be hosting Engineering Outreach Days on Friday October 25th, or Friday November 29th. These days are intended for students interested in exploring Engineering as a possible career choice. Lunch is provided.
