Student Council has been working hard on planning your fall 2023 Spirit Week! This will occur Friday, 27 October to Thursday, 2 November. Please read below or view the schedule for all of the information. Students are encouraged to listen to announcements, check out the TV screens and follow @sphs.studentsection2024 on Instagram for daily updates!
Free Dress Code: JERSEY DAY - Wear any clothing from any sports team! Jerseys/gear should be clearly identifiable; jackets or bags with small logos will not count on this day – wear it loud, wear it proud!
Lunch Activity: SUPER SMASH BROS. TOURNAMENT - Student Council will host a video game tournament in the MultiPlex at lunch hour on Thursday, October 27!! Students were invited to sign up via a Teams Form. The first 32 signed up will compete in a bracket style tournament with first place taking home a $20 Best Buy gift card. All spots have been filled by 11:00 am on Thursday, October 26.
Free Dress Code: CRAZY HAIR DAY - Whether it’s with a full bottle of gel, frosted tips, or some solid 80’s volume, show off your crazy hair on Monday! Creativity is must as students and staff with Monday ‘bed head’ will not be accepted.
Lunch Activity: PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST - In teams of 2, core group members will carve a pumpkin in the Cafeteria! All participants are selected from their core groups and are required to complete a parent/guardian signed permission form. These forms can be picked up from Ms. Rellinger in Room 127.
Free Dress Code: HALLOWEEN COSTUMES - Everyone is invited to dress up in their Halloween costumes on Tuesday! Costumes must be school appropriate, as always!
Lunch Activity: COSTUME CONTEST - The traditional SPHS costume contest will take place at lunch in the Cafeteria. All students are free to enter with the top costumes winning a free full breakfast from the cafeteria. Voting will take place on the Student Council Instagram (@sphs.studentsection2024)
Dress Code I is in effect. No Dress Code Day or Activities during Career Day.
Free Dress Code: ADAM SANDLER DAY - Renowned for wearing what he wants, Student Council invites all students and staff to become Adam Sandler for a day. A quick Google search will show you it’s mostly baggy clothing, sunglasses and sneakers!
Lunch Activity: DODGEBALL MATCHES! - One student from each core groups will face off in the MultiPlex in games of dodgeball (9s v. 10s and 11s v. 12s). With the desire to test their survival skills, Student Council members will then challenge volunteer teachers in a celebrity, full court match.

Grade 9 Students: Take Our Kids to Work Day out of the school.
Grade 10, 11, and 12 Students: Career Day at St. Paul's High School.
Professional Development Day. No Classes.
Semester 1 Progress Marks will be published electronically and available through the PowerSchool Parent Portal and Mobile App on Wednesday, 8 November. Printed progress reports will not be available, however Semester 1 Report Cards will be printed and issued in February.
Note: PowerSchool access will be shut down at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, 31 October until after progress marks and comments are published.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will occur on Thursday, 23 November, 3:30–8:00 pm and Friday, 24 November, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm. In person conferences are preferred, however, parents will have the option of booking virtual conferences as well. Further details to come.
Manitoba Education and Early Chidlhood Learning has informed schools that the Grade 10 Provincial Evaluation in Mathematics and English, origianlly planned to be administered November 7th and 8th, will shift to a voluntary pilot the week of November 20th. Further details will be shared when available.

If you haven't submitted your Kairos application, don't wait till the last minute - chat with your parents/guardians, friends, and see which one you'd like to attend. A few scheduling notes to keep in mind:
K85: NOVEMBER 14–17
We have a good group already signed up. There are still spots open, so don't hesitate to apply for this Kairos.
K86: FEBRUARY 27 to MARCH 1
These dates correspond with hockey city finals. If you're part of the team, apply for K87.
K87: APRIL 16–19
One of the days overlaps with the SPHS Fashion Show. If you wish to be participate in this event, apply for K85 or K86.
Applications for all of the Kairos retreats of the school year are due on November 2. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Kairos is your time away and is one of the ways you can make the most of your final year of high school!

The University of British Columbia will be visiting St. Paul's on Tuesday, October 31st during the lunch break. Any interested students are welcome to attend in the Aulneau Room.
Huron College at Western will also be visiting the school on Tuesday, October 31st during the lunch break. They will be setting up a booth outside of the library.

Join us in honouring this year’s recipient of the Ignatian Challenge Award, Mr. Paul Soubry ’80, on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the RBC Convention Centre. Proceeds from the annual Tribute Dinner support the St. Paul’s High School Bursary Fund.

Ticket sales close on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at midnight with the draw taking place on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Students are asked to sell a minimum of $200 worth of tickets in support of the Bursary and Grad Fund.
Each grade will have the opportunity to be rewarded a week long free relaxed dress code if they hit 50% of their quota by Thursday, November 2, 2023 ($100 x the number of students per grade).
