The Children’s Hospital Research Institute of Manitoba in partnership with the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba will be hosting a public event on October 24th as part of our annual Child Health Research Days conference. The event is FREE to attend, and all parents, educators, healthcare professionals, and youth (13+) are invited to attend.
About the Event
This year’s talk will discuss the Teens Talk Vaping project, which is a “by-youth-for-youth” research project that seeks to understand teen perspectives on vaping. From a non-judgmental perspective, the project goal was to better understand teens’ experiences and ideas about vaping, as well as how vaping features into their everyday lives, regardless of whether or not they vape. Embedded in this approach was a capacity-building program to train teens as ‘co-researchers’, recognizing the importance of youth voices in mobilizing community change. For this year’s public event, please join us to hear insights from the Teens Talk Vaping youth participatory research project and explore the social contexts surrounding teen vaping practices in Canada.
Registration
Although this is a free event, registration is required due to seating capacity limitations.
