As announced today, “the Manitoba government is shifting to a one-week remote learning period for most Manitoba students after the holiday break to ensure schools can implement enhanced safety measures for in-person learning”. More information here.
“This phased-in approach provides schools more time to address expected staffing shortages and develop plans for the implementation of enhanced measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.”
This will also allow St. Paul’s time to prepare to move to the Restricted (Orange) level on Manitoba’s Pandemic Response System. Tomorrow, St. Paul’s administration, along with schools across Manitoba will be meeting with Manitoba Education for a stakeholder briefing for further direction on planning for the resumption of learning in January.
Administration will also be meeting with teachers and counsellors to identify students that may require additional support during remote learning.
Details regarding expectations for remote learning will be communicated by the end of this week.
We ask that families who do not have a laptop or tablet available for student learning reach out to contact-us@stpauls.mb.ca. The school office re-opens on Thursday, January 6th.
As this situation continues to develop, we remind our school community to reduce the number of close contacts in your household, stay home, when possible, avoid gathering with people from outside your household and continue to follow public health orders.
